How to reach Santorini
The fastest way to reach the island is by plane. Another way to visit the island is of course by ship. Santorini can be reached by ships from the ports of Peirea and Rafina, as well as from the neighbouring islands of Kuklades, such as, Ios, Mukonos, Amorgos, Paros, Naxos and others. Santorini is a destination for ships from Crete and Rodos island and basically from all the islands of Dodekanisa complex and the islands of eastern Aigean with in between stops.
The trip can be done with the standard ferry-boat, with high-speed ferries or with flying dolphin, depending on the day and the company that you choose. If you choose a simple ferry-boat it takes approximately 5 – 7.30 hours whereas if you choose high-speed ferries then duration is 3.40 – 5.30 hours.
